Home Page Side Promos: Suggest

On the University Home page, promotions are posted as images in the farright column. There are two kinds of promotions in that area:

1. Non-Rotating Promo - Does not rotate. Reserved for Chancellor & PR office for special promotions
2. Rotating Promo - Changes on browser refresh

It is important to note that the Home Page itself has a majority of its hits from Off-campus constituents. Promotions on the home page should be toward this large community of people and not be focused on local University events intended for a specific constituent group. Local Constituent promotions can be added to each constituent page or within 49er Express' Targeted Announcement and Email Broadcast service. You can find out more about this by contacting Web Service.

Step 1: Make the Request / Getting Approval

If you would like to have an image placed within the "Rotating Promo" area on the home page you will need to provide the following information to campnews@uncc.edu and Public Relations will review for approval:

1. Brief Description of the event to promote.
2. Justification for Home Page promotion
3. Start date and End date of the promotion

Step 2: Image and Link

Once you have the After you are approved you will need to provide an image to fit within this promotion area.

1. Jpg or Gif format
2. 72 dpi Width: 150px Width x 100px Height
3. Brief "Alt" tag name for this promotion
4. URL/Link to point to

Note: The image should be a "teaser" and be visually engaging. The text should be enough to relay the overall feeling of the promotion. Users will click to find out more... too much text is not easy to read.
